Today is one of my favorite teaching days of summer. It is the day I get to introduce my RISD pre-college students to COLOR. We spent all day experimenting with Color Aid paper, the most luscious colored paper in existence. Even the smell of it makes me swoon.
Cutting, pasting, comparing, contrasting…juxt-opposing colors to create illusions of transparency, vibration and optical chromatic illusions. At the end of the day, the remnants of this process are strewn across the worktables like confetti. This random arrangement of chromatic shapes is stunningly beautiful.
Until next time…indulge in the magic of color. CREATE.
