APRIL 2026
Terra Incognita: Deepening Our Approach to the Landscape (On-line)
5 Thursdays 10am-12pm EST
April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30
Explore what truly sparks your motivation to make things inspired by the natural world. Beyond depicting, who are we in our relationship to the environment? Why portray the land? What is it that we really want to communicate with our work? How do we witness our global condition and create work that embraces a felt sense of our interbeing with the fleeting beauty we witness. By becoming more intimately connected to our process, our most authentic work can arise.
This workshop will include meditative prompts to help us slow down and consider more mindful making. After sharing your current practice, each week will offer a prompt to take a deeper dive into personally relevant themes which could include: cycles of nature, walking, weather, data collecting, migration, detritus, poetry, trees as witness, healing, loss, hope & extinction. Experimenting with varied media will help us discern if our current materials and methods are still serving us.
